DoorDash, Inc. is seeking a Planning & Controls Engineer to own flight control, motion planning, and mission planning for autonomous drones. You will implement controllers in C++ on embedded platforms, test in flight, and iterate with hardware.

The role combines low-level control with high-level planning for fault-tolerant operations. You’ll work on a small focused team, bring up flight controllers on new drone platforms, and contribute to a robust robotics stack used in last mile logistics at

Qualifications

• Strong controls fundamentals including linear/nonlinear systems and stability.
• Excellent knowledge of C++ and embedded systems.
• Experience with flight controllers, estimation, and robotics frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and tune low-level flight control for multirotor and hybrid aircraft.
• Build trajectory motion planners with obstacle avoidance.
• Test controllers in flight, iterate with hardware testing.
