Rownd seeks a Robotics & Autonomy Engineer to develop and deploy autonomous flight software on real drones. You will own ROS2 architecture, state estimation, path planning, and integration with PX4/ArduPilot stacks while collaborating with electrical, aerospace, and vision teams.

The role requires hands-on hardware work, firmware flashing, and flight testing at Hartford, WI, with regular in-person collaboration and U.S. security considerations.

Qualifikationen

• Proven experience building and deploying software within ROS/ROS2 ecosystems with physical hardware.
• Experience with PX4/ArduPilot flight stacks and MAVLink.
• Strong foundation in real-time robotics software and control loops.

Aufgaben

• Design and optimize ROS2 nodes for mission management, state machines, path planning, trajectory generation and collision avoidance.
• Calibrate and integrate sensors, implement EKFs and multi-sensor fusion.
• Tune and validate flight controls (PX4/ArduPilot) and build reliable bridges to edge compute.
• Lead field testing, coordinate with hardware teams, and drive HAL testing.
• Develop AI-assisted tooling for telemetry analysis and flight-log parsing.
