Job summary

KIHOMAC, Inc. is seeking a hands-on technician to support Project Manager and engineering staff in scheduling, data gathering, assembly, and testing of drone systems.

You will assemble frames, motors, wiring, and electronics according to schematics and perform functional tests and flight-readiness checks. The role requires a High School diploma (Associate preferred) and 1+ years in mechanical/electronic assembly, soldering, and using flight controller software such as Betaflight, ArduPilot, or

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's Degree in management or technical/scientific discipline preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in required task area.
  • Experience with mechanical or electronic assembly (drone, RC, robotics, or similar preferred).
  • Familiarity with flight controller configuration software (Betaflight, ArduPilot, PX4).
  • Experience with 3D printing, CNC equipment, or composite materials.
  • Understanding of UAV components (motors, ESCs, flight controllers, GPS modules, batteries) is a plus.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to Project Manager or mid-level/junior Engineering/Science personnel in scheduling, data gathering/limited analyses, and documentation.
  • Participate in test or project events as assigned by Project Manager or Engineering supervisor.
  • Report status and results.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with hand tools, soldering irons, and basic test equipment.
  • Assemble drone frames, motors, wiring systems, and electronic components according to detailed instructions and schematics.
  • Conduct functional tests, calibrations, and flight-readiness checks.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues related to mechanical assembly, electrical connections, and firmware configuration.
  • Document assembly procedures, test results, and any deviations or repairs.
  • Assist with prototype builds and iterative design improvements.
  • Maintain clean, organized workspaces and follow safety standards in handling tools and electronic components.
  • Other duties as assigned.
