Job summary

Aviagen is seeking a Driver’s Assistant in Alabama to support truck drivers with loading, unloading, and securing loads. The role requires working outside daily, following safety rules, and reporting maintenance issues to the supervisor.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, ensuring load security, truck cleaning, and performing other duties as assigned. Candidates must read/write legibly and possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, with ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Must be able to read and write legibly.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
• Follow DOT safety rules and company policies.

Job Description Summary:

We are looking for a candidate for a Driver’s Assistant position. This role will assist the truck drivers with logistics.

Job Description:

• Assist with loading and unloading trailer as necessary


• Ensure secure load before movement


• Clean and wash truck as necessary


• Report truck and equipment maintenance issues to supervisor


• Comply with all DOT safety rules and regulations, all company policies, and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations


• All other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

• Ability to read and write legibly


• Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate


• Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character


• High School Diploma or equivalent


• Basic math functions and skills


• Follow Department of Transportation, State and Federal laws, and company safety policies and programs


• Work in outside environment (including inclement weather) on a daily basis


• Sit and climb in and out of truck cab throughout shift


• Lift up to 75 lbs


• Work around raw, live animal odors


• Work in noisy environment (>85 decibels) and moving equipment


• Work nights, weekends, holidays and long shifts
