Job summary

Batchelor & Kimball is seeking a warehouse associate with forklift experience to manage loading, unloading, and inter-department materials movement. You will work with a team to ensure accurate shipments and safe handling of products, driving a forklift and using cranes as needed.

The role requires independent work with a focus on accuracy, speed, and reliability, contributing to on-time deliveries and overall warehouse efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a warehouse environment.
• Experience with shipping, receiving, and inventory control required.
• Must be able to drive a sit-down forklift.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must communicate effectively with the warehouse team and other departments.

Responsibilities

• Operate overhead crane to move materials and load/unload trucks.
• Tag pallets on the dock for shipment.
• Organize and load/move truck shipments safely and efficiently.
• Operate pallet jack or forklift safely.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Check shipments against emails and packing slips.
• Monitor shipping schedules for changes.
• Follow safety rules and procedures in the warehouse.
• Maintain high levels of customer service across departments.
• Cross-train in all warehouse areas.

We are looking for a person that is passionate about completing tasks and going above and beyond daily goals. This person will be very detailed and is committed to the success of the warehouse, the supply chain team, and the company. They will be responsible for transferring product with a forklift into/out of the warehouse and to other storage areas or departments.This person will have primary responsibility for the accurate and timely transport of materials to work sites or warehouses utilizing a box truck, stake bed truck, or a sprinter van. They must be able to communicate well with the warehouse team and other departments. The following responsibilities are essential, but not all-inclusive.

Job Responsibilities:

• Operate overhead crane to move materials and load/unload trucks
• Tag all pallets if they are on the dock for shipment
• Organize,Load/move truck shipments in a safe and efficient manner, including confined spaces
• Operate pallet jack or forklift in a safe, and efficient manner
• Maintain work area in a clean organized, and safe manner
• Accurately check all shipments against e-mails and/or packing slips
• Check schedule regularly for changes to shipping, order pulling, or order changes
• Follow all safety rules and operational procedures that are in place in the warehouse
• Maintain a very high standard of great customer service to all departments
• Crosstrain in all areas of the warehouse

SUPERVISORY / BUDGETARY / EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION RESPONSIBILITY

• This is an individual contributor.
• Responsible for communicating internally and externally to employees and vendors.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENT (minimum competencies required for job performance)

• Must be able to manage and prioritize shipping, receiving, and dock responsibilities
• Must accurately check shipments going out
• Must have a sense of urgency throughout the day
• Must be able to communicate effectively with the warehouse team and other department

PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Prior experience working in a warehouse environment
• Experience with shipping, receiving, and inventory control required
• Must be able to drive a sit-down forklift.
• Must be able to work independently

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands are those of a typical delivery driver and safely lift up to 50 lbs.
