Job summary

Carriage Services Inc. is seeking a compassionate Funeral Assistant (Part-Time) Driver/Transporter to perform removals from homes, hospitals, and nursing facilities in the Boise area.

The role requires a valid Idaho driver’s license and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds, with on-call responsibilities for local or longer transfers. Compensation is $20 per hour with an on-call stipend; prior driving experience is helpful but training is available.

The Funeral Assistant (Part-Time) Driver/Transporter will be responsible for carrying out removals from homes, hospitals and nursing homes etc.

Compensation: $20 an hour plus on call stipend

Job Type: Part-Time

Location: Cloverdale Funeral Home located in Boise, ID.

Job Duties

• Overnight and daytime availability are required (Drivers are on call – will be doing transfers/removals only.)
• Current ID driver’s license with good driving record
• Past experience is preferred, but willing to train.
• Must be willing to drive to complete removals that can be local or hours away.
• Professionalism and compassion are essential.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• The duties associated with this position are generally performed in an indoor setting; however, some duties may be performed outdoors. Outdoor duties may require exposure to natural elements such as inclement weather, extreme temperatures, uneven ground, dust, gas, and/or fumes.
• Must have sufficient strength and manual dexterity and must be willing to work safely and comply with the Company’s safety procedures, including wearing any personal protective equipment that may be required.
• Employees in this role are regularly required to climb, sit, stand, bend, kneel, and frequently lift approximately 75 pounds, and may be required to lift up to 100 pounds.
• Performance of this position’s duties may also require power reaching, pushing, and pulling.
• This position’s duties require routine exposure to chemicals and/or blood borne pathogens.
• Must be able to drive a company vehicle and maintain a good driving record and must be insurable under company vehicle insurance.
