Job summary

YMX Logistics is seeking a dynamic Driver Trainer to provide hands-on training, mentorship, and compliance education for Spotters, Shuttle Drivers, and OTR Drivers in Atlanta, GA. The role ensures safe driving practices and regulatory adherence across multiple locations.

The ideal candidate will have CDL-A, strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA rules, HOS compliance, and experience in supervising drivers, with the ability to deliver constructive feedback and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid CDL-A with clean driving record and hands-on driving experience.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations, FMCSA rules, and related laws applicable to commercial driving.
• Ability to teach compliance with hours-of-service (HOS) regulations and safety protocols.
• Experience in supervisory or managerial roles in a fleet context.
• Strong understanding of the transportation and logistics industry and regulatory requirements.
• 2–5 years of commercial driving experience including OTR, spotter, and shuttle driving.
• Excellent verbal and written communication to explain complex regulations and driving techniques.
• Ability to give constructive feedback to trainees and adapt teaching styles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and related productivity tools.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on driver training for Spotters, Shuttle Drivers, and OTR Drivers.
• Instruct on safe driving practices, DOT regulations, and compliance for each driver type.
• Supervise on-the-road and on-site training with real-time feedback.
• Evaluate driver performance and readiness for certifications.
• Mentor drivers and support their professional development.
• Educate on cargo handling, pre-trip/post-trip inspections, and safety protocols.
