Job Title

Reports to: Supervisor of Transportation

Pay Grade: Auxiliary I until training completed

Primary Purpose

Complete training to earn a Commercial Driver’s License and become a district bus driver.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain a valid Texas commercial driver’s license within allotted time.
• Ability to follow verbal instructions and communicate effectively.
• No experience required.

Major Responsibilities and Duties

• Work with transportation staff to successfully complete CDL training.
• Perform duties of a Bus Monitor as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected for the position.
• Maintain emotional control under stress.
• Perform frequent walking, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling; moderate lifting and carrying.
• Work outside and inside; work around vehicles and machinery with moving parts; moderate exposure to extreme temperatures and vehicle fumes.
• Be able to evacuate self and students out of the bus in case of an emergency.
