Job summary

PowerSecure is seeking a skilled CDL driver to join our fleet in a role that focuses on delivering within a 2-4 hour radius from our base, loading and unloading cargo, and ensuring all loads are secured in compliance with DOT and safety standards.

The position requires a Class A CDL with at least one year of driving experience, a clean driving record, and strong interpersonal skills to interact with PMs and customers.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL with minimum 1 year driving experience.
• Be able to pass DOT Physical and Drug screen given at orientation
• No DUI's or DWI's in the past 5 years
• Clean driving record required
• Strong knowledge of DOT and Hazmat regulations
• 2 years of Warehouse, Rigging, Shipping and Receiving experience is a plus
• Must have basic computer skills
• Ability to make critical decisions while under pressure
• Be able to provide good references upon request
• Strong interpersonal skills with PMs and customers

Responsibilities

• Make deliveries within a 2-4-hour radius from our base of operation.
• Assist in loading and unloading trucks retrieving items in a safe manner.
• Ensure all cargo is properly secured prior to leaving dock or loading area.
• Comply with all procedures and quality.
• Work under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods
• Experience with hauling dry van, flatbed, and step deck trailers.
• Responsible for scheduling and tracking all preventative maintenance for the fleet.
• Communicate with team lead regarding pick-ups and drop off, delays, emergencies, and other relevant information.
• All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills)

• Class A CDL with minimum of 1 year driving experience.

• Strong professional driver with good interpersonal skills who does not mind interacting with PM’s and in some cases the customer.
• 2 years of Warehouse, Rigging, Shipping and Receiving experience is a plus.

• When not driving this individual will be required to perform shipping and receiving functions, so warehouse experience is strongly suggested.

Physical Demands And Work Environment

• Must be able to lift to 50 pounds.
• Drive for long periods of time within DOT guidelines.
• Exposure to weather, noise intensity level, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, wet and/or humid, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts.
