Job summary

Swift Transportation is seeking a Driver Support Planner in the United States to plan and recover loads delayed in transit, supporting drivers by phone and messages during extended hours, and resolving immediate driver or customer concerns for loads in transit.

You will dispatch resources, monitor loads, coordinate with internal departments, persuade drivers to accept loads, and provide daily summaries of shift activity while working to improve on-time deliveries and overall service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch necessary resources (driver, truck, trailer) to take care of immediate issue.
• Monitor loads and resolve issues that may affect the scheduled delivery/pickup times.
• Seek out trailer availability and help drivers find the trailer.
• Resolve driver issues within authorized limits.
• Utilize all available tools, perform planning functions and critical thinking activities to ensure on-time deliveries and improved customer service.
• Provide daily summary of shift activity and ensure day shift is aware of changes and are informed of on-going concerns.
• Collaborate with designated internal department personnel to resolve customer or driver issues as necessary.
• Conduct persuasive discussions with drivers to ensure loads are accepted.
• Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.
