Job summary

BRL Transportation Services is seeking a Non-Emergency Medical Driver to assist passengers with boarding, ensuring safety and comfort. You will keep the vehicle clean, report maintenance needs, and communicate effectively with riders throughout routes and schedules.

Ideal candidates maintain a professional demeanor, follow directions, and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. California driver’s license is required, with CPR preferred and background/drug screening mandatory.

Qualifications

• Clear and courteous communication with passengers.
• Strong attention to following instructions and routes.
• Physical ability to assist passengers and lift as needed.
• Basic understanding of operating wheelchair equipment and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle safely and comfortably.
• Maintain a clean, organized vehicle; report maintenance needs.
• Communicate clearly with passengers and address questions or concerns.
• Follow routes and schedules to ensure timely arrivals at destinations.
• Complete paperwork accurately and on time.
• Present a professional, positive image to clients and others.

Job Description and Responsibilities:

• Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle, ensuring their safety and comfort
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, conducting regular inspections and reporting any maintenance or repair needs
• Communicate effectively with passengers, providing assistance and answering questions or concerns they may have
• Follow established routes and schedules, ensuring timely arrival at each destination
• Complete required paperwork documentation accurately and in a timely manner
• Maintain a professional, positive image and attitude with regard to clients and people

Skills:

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with passengers
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions accurately
• Physical ability to perform heavy lifting as needed
• Basic knowledge of operating wheelchair equipment

Requirements

• Must pass background and drug test
• 21 years of age or older
• Safe driver
• California Drivers license (required 21+ yrs or 3 years driving experience)
• CPR certification (preferred)
• Previous experiences with mental and developmental illnesses (preferred)
• High school diploma or equivalent
