McLane Company, Inc. is hiring a Shuttle Driver in Indianapolis to deliver full trailers to the domicile and return empties to the distribution center.

You’ll inspect rigs, secure cargo, and maintain DOT-compliant logs while contributing to safe, on-time deliveries. Eligible drivers earn $75,000 to $80,000 annually with day-one benefits including medical, dental, vision, FSA/HSA, life insurance, holidays, vacation, sick leave, and a 401(k) profit-sharing plan.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 21+ and valid CDL-A license.
• At least 1 year or 50,000 miles tractor trailer experience.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English for safety and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver full trailers to domicile and return empties to DC.
• Inspect rig, secure product, and submit DOT reports.
• Maintain driver log per DOT regulations and work safely.

This Shuttle Driver is responsible for the delivery of full trailers to the Domicile and taking empty trailers back to the Distribution Center.

• Pay Rate: Drivers make $75,000 to $80,000 annually.
• Schedule: Sun, Mon, Tues, Thu, Fri Start time 10:00am, 2 shuttle runs per day.

What You’ll Do As a Shuttle Driver

• Inspect the rig for defects pre- and post-trip and submit DOT inspection report.
• Ensure that product is secured inside the trailer for undamaged transport.
• Maintain driver log (Manual or PeopleNet) according to DOT regulations.
• May at times perform line haul and/or backhaul.
• Work safely to prevent injury to people and damage to products.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications You’ll Bring As a Shuttle Driver Teammate

• At least 21 years of age
• Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL-A)
• At least 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor trailer driving experience
• Meet McLane's MVR and risk rating qualifications
• This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
