Job summary

McLane Company, Inc is seeking a Shuttle Driver to deliver full trailers to domiciles and return empties to the distribution center. The role emphasizes safety, reliable service, and adherence to DOT rules.

You will inspect, secure cargo, and maintain logs while potentially handling line haul tasks. Strong English reading/writing and a valid CDL-A are required to ensure safe operations.

Qualifications

• CDL-A license required and clean driving record.
• Ability to read/write English for safety and compliance.
• Minimum 1 year or 50,000 miles of tractor-trailer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the rig for defects before and after trips and file DOT reports.
• Secure product inside trailers to prevent damage.
• Maintain driver logs per DOT regulations.
• May perform line haul or backhaul when needed.
• Work safely to prevent injuries and damage.

This Shuttle Driver is responsible for the delivery of full trailers to the Domicile and taking empty trailers back to the Distribution Center.

What you'll do as a Shuttle Driver:

• Inspect the rig for defects pre- and post-trip and submit DOT inspection report.
• Ensure that product is secured inside the trailer for undamaged transport.
• Maintain driver log (Manual or PeopleNet) according to DOT regulations.
• May at times perform line haul and/or backhaul.
• Work safely to prevent injury to people and damage to products.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications you'll bring as a Shuttle Driver Teammate:

• At least 21 years of age
• Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL-A)
• At least 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor trailer driving experience
• Meet McLane's MVR and risk rating qualifications
• This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
