Position Summary

The Driver position is responsible for safely operating delivery vehicles to transport nursery products while ensuring exceptional customer service. Responsibilities also include collaborating with the team to maintain delivery records and adhere to company policies and procedures.

Essential Functions

• Safely operate and assist in maintaining delivery vehicles, including trucks and vans, to transport trees, shrubs, and other nursery products to customer locations. Alert management when vehicles are experiencing issues.
• Assist in loading and unloading products, when necessary, ensuring proper securing and handling to prevent damage.
• Adhere to delivery routes efficiently to maximize productivity and minimize travel time. Communicate to Logistics Coordinator and manager of any issues.
• Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, including courteous interaction with customers and addressing any delivery-related inquiries or concerns.
• Collaborate with team to ensure accurate fulfillment of customer orders and proper handling of products for delivery.
• Maintain delivery records and documentation, including proof of delivery and any necessary paperwork.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies while driving and conducting deliveries.
• Provide support to the operations team as necessary, fostering a collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
• Adhere to Arbor Valley’s policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate behaviors that align seamlessly with Arbor Valley’s foundational fundamentals and culture.
• Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

At times, this job may be exposed in an outdoor nursery and greenhouse environments. Routinely exposed to various weather conditions. Position requires driving several hours per day per shift in a large sized vehicle.

Physical Demands

Prolonged periods of standing, bending, walking, lifting, and moving. Frequent motions include grasping, seeing, and other repetitive movements. Must be able to lift, carry, minimum up to 50 pounds, more with assistance. Must have physical stamina and the ability to perform physical demands in varying weather conditions.
