Job summary

Superior Plus Propane is seeking a Propane Bobtail Driver to safely and efficiently deliver propane to residential and commercial customers. You will load, unload and deliver propane, maintain vehicle cleanliness, and ensure accurate delivery tickets while upholding the highest safety standards.

During peak seasons, you will work full-time hours with overtime opportunities and seasonal rotation options. You will collaborate closely with the Dispatcher for routing, perform routine inspections,

Qualifications

• Requires a valid CDL A or B license and Hazmat endorsement preferred.
• Minimum 1 year delivery driver experience.
• DOT medical certification and legal authorization to work in the US are required.

Responsibilities

• Transfer, collect, load and deliver propane to customers and containers.
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
• Accurately record and print delivery tickets and complete daily driver reports.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and site inspections.
• Coordinate with Dispatcher for routing and scheduling; report issues promptly.
• Work overtime as needed and on-call one week per month.
• Maintain daily delivery records to support DOT compliance.

Job description

The Propane Bobtail Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of propane to our customers. The Delivery Driver will deliver, load and unload propane while providing exceptional customer service. Our Delivery Drivers are also accountable for upholding the highest standards for safety in the delivery and handling of propane and for conducting regular vehicle inspections and maintenance.

During your active season, you’ll play a critical role in delivering propane and supporting customers throughout high‑demand winter months. Off‑season periods provide extended time away from work between active assignments.

What to Expect:

• Consistent, full-time hours during peak heating season and opportunities for overtime
• Opportunity to return each season based on performance and business needs
• Hands‑on role supporting residential and commercial propane customers

What you’ll do:

• Transfer, collect, load and deliver propane, product to and from containers (bulk truck, tanks and/or cylinders) for customers.
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
• Leverage technology where available to: Monitor and track the transfer of propane inventory, tank levels and container sizing; accurately record and print delivery tickets for customers for product delivered; accurately complete and submit daily driver report where necessary.
• Maintain equipment to the highest level of safety standards, reporting any mechanical issues to the Fleet Manager/Dispatcher. Conduct and, if applicable document, pre and post vehicle inspections, site inspections and visual tank inspections.
• Collaborate with the Dispatcher frequently for routing and scheduling information. Notify the dispatcher of any product, customer, routing, scheduling or safety issues immediately to obtain their guidance and instruction on how to resolve the issue or situation.
• Employees may be required to work overtime hours when business needs require it.
• Report any mechanical issues to the District Manager/Dispatcher.
• Conduct and document pre‑trip vehicle and site inspections.
• Maintain daily delivery records and tickets to support DOT compliance.
• Exercise due diligence in completing routes safely and successfully.
• One week a month will be required to do on call.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you bring:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Minimum of 1 year delivery driver experience
• CDL Class A or B
• Tanker and Hazmat endorsement preferred
• Current DOT medical certification
• Legal Authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job opening

Schedule:

We offer multiple work rotations based on operational needs and employee preference:

• 6 months on / 6 months off (seasonal)
• 7 months on / 5 months off (flex)
• 8 months on / 4 months off (flex)
• 9 months on / 3 months off (flex)

Pay Transparency:

The hourly rate for this position is $24.00 - $30.00 per hour, with flexibility for highly qualified candidates based on industry experience, CDL/Hazmat endorsements, and technical expertise.

Please note the compensation information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, geographical location, as well as market and business considerations.

This role will be eligible for overtime pay once scheduled work week hours are met.

When applicable, this role is eligible for an on‑call incentive stipend.

This position is also eligible for a quarterly/annual incentive program.
