Job summary

Superior Plus Propane is hiring a Propane Bobtail Driver in Maine. The role focuses on safe and timely propane delivery, loading and unloading, and exceptional customer service.

You will uphold high safety standards, perform vehicle inspections, and collaborate with the Dispatcher for routing and scheduling. We offer flexible schedules, a supportive environment, and opportunities for overtime and incentive programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of 1 year delivery driver experience preferred.
• CDL Class A or B preferred, tanker and hazmat endorsement preferred.
• Current DOT medical certification.
• Ability to work overtime and be on call, US work authorization without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Transfer, collect, load and deliver propane to customers from bulk truck, tanks or cylinders.
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
• Utilize technology to monitor propane inventory, tank levels and print delivery tickets.
• Complete and submit daily driver reports when necessary.
• Report mechanical issues and perform pre/post vehicle inspections.
• Coordinate with Dispatcher for routing and scheduling; escalate issues as needed.
• Overtime may be required; other duties as assigned.

The Propane Bobtail Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of propane to our customers. The Delivery Driver will deliver, load and unload propane while providing exceptional customer service. Our Delivery Drivers are also accountable for upholding the highest standards for safety in the delivery and handling of propane and for conducting regular vehicle inspections and maintenance.

What you’ll do:

• Transfer, collect, load and deliver propane, product to and from containers (bulk truck, tanks and/or cylinders) for customers.
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
• Leverage technology where available to: Monitor and track the transfer of propane inventory, tank levels and container sizing; accurately record and print delivery tickets for customers for product delivered; accurately complete and submit daily driver report where necessary.
• Maintain equipment to the highest level of safety standards, reporting any mechanical issues to the Fleet Manager/Dispatcher. Conduct and, if applicable document, pre and post vehicle inspections, site inspections and visual tank inspections.
• Collaborate with the Dispatcher frequently for routing and scheduling information. Notify the dispatcher of any product, customer, routing, scheduling or safety issues immediately to obtain their guidance and instruction on how to resolve the issue or situation.
• Employees may be required to work overtime hours when business needs require it.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you bring:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Minimum of 1 year delivery driver experience preferred
• CDL Class A or B
• Tanker and Hazmat endorsement preferred
• Current DOT medical certification
• Ability to work overtime and on call
• Legal Authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job opening

This is a Flex position.

We offer multiple work rotations based on operational needs and employee preference:

• 6 months on / 6 months off
• 7 months on / 5 months off
• 8 months on / 4 months off
• 9 months on / 3 months off

During your active season, you’ll play a critical role in delivering propane and supporting customers throughout high demand winter months. Off season periods provide extended time away from work between active assignments.

Schedule selection will be finalized during the hiring process based on business demand and candidate preference.

The hourly rate for this position is $29.00 - $33.00 per hour. This role will be eligible for overtime pay once scheduled work week hours are met.

When applicable, this role is eligible for an on-call incentive stipend. This position is also eligible for a quarterly/annual incentive program.
