Position Purpose

The Shred-it Route Driver provides industry-leading service to clients, handling all document destruction needs, including transporting supplies and materials safely, following company policies and laws. This involves loading, unloading, and securing cargo during transport.

Key Job Activities

• Performs onsite/offsite document destruction of confidential information.
• Conducts pre/post-trip vehicle checks and reports maintenance issues.
• Operates equipment safely to minimize injury and damage risks.
• Follows all laws regarding driver fitness and hours of service and maintains DOT logs if applicable.
• Ensures security when handling documents and locking consoles/containers.
• Services accounts using a handheld device, ensuring accurate barcode scanning and record-keeping.
• Manages routes to ensure timely and accurate collection of confidential materials.
• Responds promptly to customer inquiries and problems.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Experience

• 3+ years, preferably in shred/box truck driving and route management.
• Valid driver’s license (Class D or above) with an excellent record.
• May require immunizations and credentials based on customer needs.
• English proficiency sufficient to understand traffic signs, respond to inquiries, and complete reports.
