Position Purpose:

The Shred-it Route Driver is responsible for providing industry-leading service to clients by managing all document destruction needs, including transporting supplies and materials safely, in accordance with company policies and laws. This involves loading and unloading the delivery vehicle and ensuring cargo is secured before transport.

Key Job Activities:

• Performs onsite/offsite document destruction of confidential information
• Performs pre/post-trip checks and driver check-in on the assigned truck, prior to leaving or at day's end
• Reports maintenance issues to Transportation/Dispatcher
• Operates company equipment safely and efficiently to minimize injury and damage
• Complies with all laws governing driver fitness and hours of service
• Completes and maintains DOT logs when applicable
• Ensures security when emptying consoles and collection totes, retrieving all documents and locking containers
• Services accounts using a hand-held device, ensuring barcoding, location updates, and accuracy of consoles/containers
• Manages routes to ensure timely and accurate collection of confidential materials
• Handles customer problems and inquiries promptly and professionally
• Performs other duties as assigned

Education:

Preferred: High School diploma or equivalent

Experience:

• 3+ years of driving experience, preferably with shred/box trucks and route management
• Valid driver’s license (Class D or above) with an excellent record
• May require immunizations and credentials based on customer needs
• Non-native English speakers are welcome if they can read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs, respond to inquiries, and complete reports
