Job Title: Shred-it Route Driver

Pay Rate: $18/Hr, Great Benefits

Position Purpose:

The Shred-it Route Driver is responsible for providing industry-leading levels of service to clients while taking care of all customer document destruction needs. This includes transporting supplies and materials safely and in accordance with company policy and all local and federal laws. The role involves loading and unloading the delivery vehicle and ensuring that all cargo is securely fastened before transport.

Key Job Activities:
  1. Perform onsite/offsite document destruction of confidential information.
  2. Conduct pre/post-trip checks and driver check-in on the assigned truck, prior to departure or at the end of the day.
  3. Report maintenance issues to the Transportation/Dispatcher for follow-up.
  4. Operate company equipment safely and efficiently to minimize risk of injury and damage.
  5. Comply with all local, state, and federal laws governing driver fitness and hours of service.
  6. Complete and maintain DOT logs when applicable.
  7. Maintain security when handling consoles and collection totes, ensuring documents are retrieved and containers are securely locked.
  8. Service accounts using a handheld device, ensuring barcoded consoles/containers are up-to-date and accurately recorded.
  9. Manage assigned routes to ensure timely and accurate collection and servicing of confidential materials.
  10. Handle customer inquiries and problems expediently, prioritizing customer and company interests.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:

Preferred: High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience:
  • At least 3 years of experience, preferably in driving shred/box trucks and route management.
  • Valid driver's license (Class D or above) with an excellent driving record.
  • May require immunizations and credentials based on customer requirements.
  • English proficiency sufficient to understand traffic signs, respond to inquiries, and complete reports, including for non-native speakers.
