Job summary

At Mazzella, the Rigger/Driver is responsible for building assemblies and delivering products to customers in a timely, safe and courteous manner. You will represent the company professionally to increase profitability and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include driving to locations, constructing assemblies, performing rigging inspections, loading/unloading, operating a forklift, and maintaining equipment and a clean work area. Teamwork and safety are core to this role.

Qualifications

  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Must lift/pull a minimum of 50 pounds frequently.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Forklift experience strongly preferred.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual and planning skills.
  • Teamwork in a shop environment.
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated and disciplined; multitasking.
  • Criminal background check, physical, drug screen and E-Verify required.

Responsibilities

  • Pick up/Deliver products to different addresses and routes.
  • Build chain/wire rope assemblies safely and timely.
  • Perform proof tests/inspections on rigging.
  • Pack and load trucks/freight per specifications.
  • Unload goods per customer specifications.
  • Operate forklift to load/unload trailers and heavy loads.
  • Notify Supervisor of truck/forklift issues and ensure correction.
  • Provide customer information to Supervisor during deliveries.
  • Perform other duties as directed by Supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean truck and work area.
  • Arrive on time for work, meetings and related functions.
  • Meet goals and objectives effectively and on time.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Description

The Rigger/Driver is responsible for helping meet the needs of the customers by building assemblies & delivering/picking up products in a timely, safe and courteous manner. The Rigger/Driver will represent the company in a professional and cost-effective manner aimed at increasing profitability and customer satisfaction.

  • Pick up/Deliver a wide variety of products to different addresses and through different routes
  • Build chain/wire rope assemblies in a safe & timely manner
  • Perform proof tests/inspections on rigging
  • Pack and load trucks/freight lines according to company specifications
  • Unload goods as per customer specifications
  • Utilize forklift to load/unload trailers and heavy loads.
  • Notify Supervisor when there is a problem with the trucks/forklifts and make sure it is corrected
  • Inform Supervisor of all information that the customer is conveying to them while making the delivery
  • Perform other duties as directed by Supervisor when not making deliveries
  • Maintain a clean truck and work area
  • Arrives to work, meetings, appointments and other work-related functions on time and as scheduled
  • Meets agreed upon goals and objectives effectively and in a timely manner
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements

Excellent time management skills

  • Must be able to lift and/or pull a minimum of 50 pounds frequently
  • Valid current driver’s license and overall clean driving record.
  • Previous experience operating propane powered forklift strongly preferred
  • Requires solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
  • Strong analytical, conceptual and planning skills are required
  • Must be able to work well with a team in a shop environment
  • Must be detail oriented, self-motivated and disciplined with the ability to multi-task
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen and E-verify
