Job summary

Allegiance Crane & Equipment in Lafayette, LA seeks full-time drivers/riggers to join the team. You will safely drive tractor-trailers, secure loads, and perform rigging with proper signaling on a variety of crane operations.

Requirements include NCCCO or NCCER certification, CDL Class A, and 2 years driving plus 1 year rigging experience. Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required. Excellent communication with customers is essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold NCCCO or NCCER certification.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Class A CDL required to drive commercial vehicles.
• Minimum 2 years experience driving commercial vehicles.
• Minimum 1 year rigging cranes or similar equipment.
• Able to work overtime, weekends and holidays.
• Professional communication with customers.
• Must read and speak English well.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive tractor-trailer to transport cranes and equipment.
• Properly secure equipment to the trailer.
• Use rigging techniques for safe lifting, with hand signals.
• Connect pulley and blocks to overhead structures.
• Dismantle, maintain and store rigging equipment.
• Test rigging to ensure safety before hoisting.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safely drive tractor-trailer to transport cranes and equipment to job sites.
• Properly secure equipment to the trailer for preparation for hauling.
• Utilize proper rigging techniques to ensure safe lifting of the load, including hand signals for the safe operation of the crane.
• Connects pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures with bolts, shackles, and clamps
• Dismantles, maintains and stores rigging equipment
• Test rigging to ensure safety and reliability before engaging in hoisting and lifting

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend, stoop, climb, and move about shop and equipment. Heavy physical effort required. Must be able to lift up to 75 lb. Will regularly be exposed to noise, heat, dust, and fumes around job sites and yard. Extreme weather conditions possible, at times. Must be able to drive a vehicle for local travel.
