Allegiance Crane & Equipment in Lafayette, LA is seeking a full-time Driver/Rigger to join our team. You will drive tractor-trailers, secure loads, and apply rigging techniques to safely operate cranes at job sites. This role requires reliability, good communication, and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Must have NCCCO or NCCER certification.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Class A CDL is required to drive commercial vehicles.
• Minimum 2 years experience driving commercial vehicles.
• Minimum 1 year prior experience rigging cranes or similar equipment.
• Professional communication with customers is required.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive tractor-trailer to transport cranes and equipment to job sites.
• Properly secure equipment to the trailer for preparation for hauling.
• Utilize proper rigging techniques to ensure safe lifting of the load, including hand signals for crane operation.
• Connects pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures with bolts, shackles, and clamps.
• Dismantles, maintains and stores rigging equipment.
• Test rigging to ensure safety and reliability before engaging in hoisting and lifting.

REQUIREMENTS

• NCCCO or NCCER certification required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Class A CDL required to drive commercialvehicles.
• Minimum 2 years experience driving commercial vehicles.

• Ability to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays.
• Professional communication skill to be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend, stoop, climb, and move about shop and equipment. Heavy physical effort required. Must be able to lift up to 75 lb. Will regularly be exposed to noise, heat, dust, and fumes around job sites and yard. Extreme weather conditions possible, at times. Must be able to drive a vehicle for local travel.
