About the Job:
The Driver is responsible for coordinating and safely transporting patients to and from facility programming, including appointments, activity trips, airport shuttle service, and other special events, in a punctual and timely manner. The role also involves monitoring and reporting patient behaviors, crisis situations, and medical emergencies as part of the multidisciplinary team. Additionally, the Driver may transport visitors or staff as needed.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Drive company vehicles to transport patients for various needs in a punctual manner.
- Transport visitors or staff as required.
- Ensure all passengers wear seatbelts before starting the vehicle.
- Supervise and monitor clients during transportation, adhering to safety policies and resolving issues as necessary.
- Model positive behaviors, effective communication, and conflict resolution; promote open communication.
- Document in client records and provide verbal reports to the next shift.
- Respond to 'on call' schedules and complete transportation documentation accurately.
- Maintain vehicle logs, report maintenance issues, and keep vehicles clean and functional.
- Assist in behavioral events within the unit when needed.
- Drive facility vehicles for supplies or equipment pickup.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid state driver’s license in good standing.
- One or more years of relevant work experience in a behavioral facility preferred.
