Qualifications

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in a mental health related field and at least two years of experience in a mental health (psychiatric/inpatient or outpatient) setting.

Responsibilities

  • Transport patients safely to and from the facility.
  • Provide continuous observation and interaction with patients during transport.
  • Support clinical staff in implementing scheduled programs and activities.
  • Assist staff nurses with psychiatric and physical care duties as needed.
  • Maintain proper documentation and communication with the treatment team.
  • Ensure vehicle safety, cleanliness, and compliance with all regulations.
  • Maintain a professional, respectful, and therapeutic presence at all times.

Job description

Brentwood Behavioral Healthcare is seeking a dynamic and talented Driver PRN to provide safe patient transportation to and from the facility. The Driver is responsible for maintaining safety, observing and interacting with patients in a therapeutic manner, and supporting the inpatient and outpatient treatment team.

Position Summary

The Driver provides patient transportation to and from the facility, providing continuous observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients while always maintaining safety. The Driver works closely with all other clinical staff (Activity Therapists, Social Workers, Nurses) to carry out the patient program schedule and assists staff nurses in psychiatric and physical treatment and care of patients in accordance with established methods and procedures of the hospital. The Driver engages patients in therapeutic activities, maintains appropriate boundaries, and supports the overall treatment plan.
