We provide psychiatric treatment for depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, schizophrenia, phobia and more. Position Summary: The Driver provides patient transportation to and from the facility, providing continuous observation, interaction, and role modeling to the patients while always maintaining safety. The Driver works closely with all other clinical staff (Activity Therapists, Social Workers, Nurses) to conduct various process and specialty groups within the patient program. The Driver plays an integral part of assuring that the patient program schedule is carried out as planned by the staff team. The Driver performs various duties assisting staff nurses in the psychiatric and physical treatment and care of patients in accordance with established methods and procedures of the hospital. The Driver interacts closely with patients remaining engaged in the various activities and events that patients experience throughout the treatment day. The Driver interacts with patients in a therapeutic manner at all times and assists other staff to also maintain appropriate boundaries.
Minimum: High school graduate or equivalent. Maintain a valid class specific driver’s license applicable to transporting patients. Driving record must meet or exceed the facility standards. BLS and De-escalation Certification required.
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Mental Health related field and two years of experience in the mental health field (psychiatric/inpatient or outpatient setting).
