Job summary

Tender Care PPEC in Gainesville, FL is seeking a Driver to transport medically fragile pediatric patients to and from the center. This role emphasizes safety, compassion, and reliability as part of a supportive team.

No nights or Sundays, with split shifts Mon-Fri 6:00 AM - 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Benefits include PTO, 401(k) with company match, EAP, and life insurance. Requires active driver license and DOT qualifications.

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted driver license.
• Clean MVR for last 5 years.
• Experience driving professionally (medical transport, school bus, childcare transport).
• Clear and active DOT physical.
• AHA CPR + First Aid certification prior to start.
• Level 2 Background Screening clearance.
• Calm, patient and compassionate approach with children with developmental or behavioral needs.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a busy setting.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport pediatric patients to and from the PPEC center.
• Assist with loading/unloading of wheelchairs and medical equipment.
• Follow assigned routes and schedules while maintaining communication with staff.
• Perform basic vehicle safety checks and maintain cleanliness.
• Provide a calm, friendly, and reassuring presence for children and caregivers.
• Split Shifts Monday-Friday between 6:00 AM - 9:00 AM & 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM.
• No nights. No Sundays.

What You'll Do

• Safely transport pediatric patients to and from the PPEC center
• Assist with secure loading/unloading of wheelchairs and medical equipment
• Follow assigned routes and schedules while maintaining clear communication with staff
• Perform basic vehicle safety checks and maintain cleanliness
• Provide a calm, friendly, and reassuring presence for children and caregivers
• Consistent routes (no late nights or rideshare chaos)
• Split Shifts Monday-Friday between 6:00 AM - 9:00 AM & 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM
• No nights. No Sundays.

What You Need:
