Position Overview

The Patient Service Technician uses sales, service, and educational skills to ensure the safe delivery, setup, and use of equipment, providing exceptional customer service for SG Homecare in the community. The role involves extensive driving.

Essential Job Functions

• Delivers and sets up equipment in customers' residences or healthcare facilities.
• Educates customers on the proper use and care of respiratory and durable medical equipment.
• Follows all company policies and procedures.
• Maintains knowledge of current Home Medical Equipment (HME) products and services offered by SG Homecare, and all relevant regulations.
• Manages territory to meet service goals, including delivery of equipment and oxygen, complying with industry standards and regulations such as DOT and FDA guidelines.
• Completes patient visit reports after setup and follow-up visits.
• Assists in resolving customer equipment issues.
• Processes orders accurately and timely.
• Promotes services and products to community referral sources.
• Develops technical knowledge of HME or respiratory products and services.
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives to meet standards.
• Maintains home oxygen systems through scheduled visits.
• Performs routine maintenance and simple repairs on equipment.
• Reports hazards or incidents related to equipment.
• Assists with cleaning, disinfecting, and repairs as needed.
• Ensures vehicle is fueled and ready, maintains records, and tracks serialized equipment.
• Participates in on-call and emergency response duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience or training in home medical equipment preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and at least one year of safe driving experience.
