Job summary

A rehabilitation service provider is seeking a part-time Driver to assist individuals with disabilities in transportation to and from employment. The successful candidate will ensure passenger and vehicle safety by adhering to traffic rules and performing safety checks on the assigned vehicle. The role requires a clean driving record and the ability to relate positively with diverse clients. This position offers an hourly wage starting at $17.77, with flexibility to accommodate individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure passenger and vehicle safety by following road rules.
• Perform daily checks to assigned vehicle as per the manual.
• Report vehicle safety issues and passenger concerns to the manager.

The Driver assists individuals with disabilities with transport to and from employment.

Reportability

Reports directly to: Program Director of Vocational Services

Supervisor Responsibilities

Provides support and guidance to participants seeking employment opportunities.

Responsibilities

Ensures passenger and vehicle safety by:

• Adherence to the rules of the road at all times (i.e. speed limits, etc.)
• Making daily checks to the assigned vehicle according to the procedures outlined in the Van Driver Manual.
• Prompt reporting of vehicle safety or maintenance concerns to the Transportation Manager.
• Prompt reporting of passenger issues, i.e. illness or behavioral issues to the Transportation Manager.
• Implements Emergency Evacuation Procedures as needed.

Knowing and following the procedures set forth in the Van Driver Manual.

Maintain a valid public service license and an accident and violation free driving record.

Knowing and following the policies and procedures put forth in the organization's personnel handbook.

Perform other driving assignments as directed by the Program Director of Vocational Services.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director of Vocational Services.

Attend and maintain all required trainings.
