Mary Wade’s Adult Day Center is seeking a part-time Driver to work 20 hours per week.

Schedule: 25 hours per week or more based on transportation requests.

Responsibilities

• Drive assigned routes or door‑to‑door pickups according to a daily schedule.
• Assist clients in entering and exiting the van and operate the wheelchair lift to unload residents.
• Maintain van interior and windows in a clean condition at all times.
• Drive vehicles to and from emissions testing and other required vehicle inspections as assigned.
• Assist in preventive maintenance by regularly checking fluid levels and tire pressure, and report all maintenance needs to the supervisor.
• Record all driving logs, mileage, and other required records.
• Assist in Program Assistant activities when needed.

Qualifications

• Attend staff meetings and participate in safety and other operation training as assigned.
• Use safety apparatus such as seat belts.
• Report any unsafe conditions or accidents and file accurate reports.
• Obey rules of the road.
• Show sensitivity to the needs of the elderly in a healthcare setting.
• Possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Know street locations in the New Haven area.
• Hold a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class C or B with a Passenger “P” endorsement or an “F” endorsement.
