Job summary

HUMAN SERVICE CHAMBER OF FRANKLIN COUNTY in Columbus, OH seeks a Driver Supervisor to oversee Meals-on-Wheels delivery staff, hire and evaluate drivers, and ensure route coverage. This role requires strong supervisory skills and the ability to manage volunteer programs with sensitivity to seniors and individuals with disabilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred associate’s degree in human services or related field.
• 3–5 years of supervisory experience.
• 2 years of experience working with volunteers.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license; vehicle available for agency use.
• Strong customer relations experience and multi-task skills.
• Basic to intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
• Understanding of quality assurance standards and contract compliance.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily supervision of Meals-on-Wheels delivery staff, including interviewing, hiring, scheduling and evaluating drivers.
• Ensure daily route coverage and monitor driver performance.
• Develop and deliver driver orientation and in-service training.
• Manage driver documentation, reports and route lists.
• Coordinate with volunteers, agency staff and funders as needed.
• Conduct monthly meetings and trainings for staff and volunteers.
• Assist with route planning and coverage during shortages.
