Job summary

Comcar Industries, Inc. in Port Wentworth, GA is seeking a Driver Manager to lead 30-35 regional and short-haul drivers, ensuring safe operations and DOT compliance. You will coach driver associates, manage daily loads, and keep equipment up to date with maintenance schedules.

You will coordinate load planning, monitor on-time deliveries, and work with customers to resolve transportation issues while prioritizing safety, efficiency, and service quality in a fast-paced environment.

Driver Manager

CT TRANSPORTATION IS LOOKING FOR A DRIVER MANAGER FOR THEIR SAVANNAH GA LOCATON!

General :

• High degree of energy; self-starter.
• Able to make timely decisions in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to work with technology –Microsoft Office; Excel; Word – McLeod TMS Software and SAP Logistics Management software desirable.

(Can train these software tools for individuals with no prior experience.)

• Good communications skills (written and verbal).
• Exceptional listening skills.
• Able to effectively Coach and Mentor new driver associates
• Organized.
• Able to prioritize work based on customer and operational needs.
• Can work effectively alone, or as part of a larger team.
• Critical thinking skills – always looks for ways to improve processes and performance.
• Positive, outgoing personality.

Driver Management :

• Ability to Lead 30-35 drivers, both Regional and Short Haul drivers.
• Ensure safe operation of the company fleet.
• Ensure driver safety data is kept up to date per DOT standards (Physicals, Drug Screens, Logs)
• Maintain visibility of the power and trailing equipment, ensuring normally scheduled maintenance and repair work is completed.

Customer Service :

• Ability to work with customers on daily transportation issues.
• Monitor and track on time delivery to customer locations.

Load Planning :

• Understand driver Hours of Service for planning purposes, to ensure safe and legal load assignments to drivers.
• Able to evaluate load plans on multiple drivers to ensure safe and efficient movement of customer loads.
• Efficiently audits loads on drivers to maximize driver Hours of Service.
• Able to monitor and take action on multiple loads on drivers each day to increase freight volumes on each truck….moving high levels of freight by weight or size on available capacity (trucks).
