Job summary

Heritage Communities is hiring a Driver/Maintenance Assistant at The Heritage at Sagewood in Grand Island, NE. You’ll perform repairs, maintenance, and safety tasks to keep our senior living community in excellent condition.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of maintenance, minor repairs, painting, and grounds upkeep.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
• Compassionate communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform apartment reconditioning tasks, including fixture installation and general repairs.
• Maintain all areas of the community to the highest standard with proper record-keeping for work orders, certifications, and scheduling.
• Assist in safety preparedness by participating in Safety Committee Meetings, fire drills, and other emergency exercises.

What You’ll Do:

As a Driver/Maintenance Assistant, you'll play a hands-on role in improving the lives of our residents by:

• Performing apartment reconditioning tasks, including fixture installation and general repairs.
• Maintaining all areas of the community to the highest standard, ensuring proper record-keeping for work orders, certifications, and scheduling.
• Assisting in safety preparedness of associates and residents, participating in Safety Committee Meetings, fire drills, and other emergency exercises.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

• 1+ year of experience in maintenance, minor repairs, painting, and grounds upkeep, with the ability to operate applicable tools and equipment.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record (Chauffer’s license is required in the state of Iowa).
• Compassionate communication and teamwork skills.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification (preferred).
