Job summary

Princess Cruises and Holland America Line in Anchorage seeks a Driver, Luggage Truck to join our Guest Services team. This part-time position supports the luggage handling, loading and delivering to ships and airport to ensure guests' belongings arrive smoothly.

You must be at least 21, hold a valid Class B CDL with airbrake, pass DOT physical and drug screen, and have clean driving record. CDL may be obtained via company training.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 21.
• One year of driving and luggage handling preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with three years clean driving record; MVR will be requested.
• Valid Class B CDL with airbrake endorsement may be obtained through Company training.
• Must pass a DOT physical and drug screen; ability to lift 50–75 pounds; pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a truck and work in a team environment.
• Routinely load, unload, and deliver luggage to properties and airport.
• Sort, tag, and label luggage daily; coordinate with supervisors via radio.
• Support basic mechanical duties as needed.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to guests and coworkers.

When preparing for a vacation, some spend days planning and packing the perfect outfit or bringing the right essentials to make their vacation run as smoothly and as comfortably as possible. As a luggage handler, you make sure all their packed belongings arrive to their new home-away-from-home. You and the rest of the team work together to collect, load, and disperse luggage daily to ensure our guests’ belongings follow them on their Alaskan journey.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ability to safely drive a truck, while working in a team or group environment.
• Routinely drives a truck; loads, and unloads luggage, picks-up and delivers luggage at our various properties and the airport.
• Loads and unloads luggage from trucks, vans, and motorcoaches.
• Organize, sort, tally, tag, and label guest luggage daily.
• Communicates frequently with supervisors and other team members via radio for updates, requests, or concerns.
• Performs basic mechanical duties.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum age of 21 is required.
• One year of experience in positions involving driving and luggage handling preferred.
• Current, valid driver's license, with three (3) years clean driving record is required. (A Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) will be requested).
• Current, valid class B, CDL with airbrake endorsement, is required (may be obtained through Company training course).
• Must be certified as physically qualified through a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screen.
• Must be able to lift 50 - 75 pounds regularly, sometimes above head level.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check.
• Must meet company’s clean driver eligibility requirements.
