Job summary

Kentucky State Police is seeking a Driver Test Administrator to support highway safety by administering written and road tests for various licenses at the regional office in Boyd County, KY.

The role involves testing applicants, assisting the public, and coordinating with the Transportation Cabinet to ensure accurate paperwork and eligibility, with travel as needed. 37.5 hours weekly; full-time and overtime-eligible.

Qualifications

• EDUCATION: High school graduate.
• EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: NONE
• Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE

Responsibilities

• Administer vision, written and skills test for applicants attempting to obtain their Class D or M Kentucky motor vehicle driver’s license.
• Administer Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) general knowledge and endorsement written examinations.
• Answer questions and provide information to the public on the Kentucky driver’s licensing testing procedures.
• Review documents to ensure eligibility of applicants.
• Communicate with the Transportation Cabinet to correct any discrepancies on examination and relevant paperwork.
• Travel to other counties in assigned region may be required to cover vacancies.
