Job summary

okgov in Oklahoma is seeking a Licensing Examiner (part-time) to join Service Operations in Lawton. The role includes conducting driver’s license interviews, examinations, and inspections to determine eligibility and issuing or denying driving privileges in line with state and federal regulations.

The position is temporary, up to 24 hours per week, with some weekend shifts possible. Responsibilities include administering tests, maintaining records securely, and supporting related legal processes

Qualifications

• Knowledge of state and federal laws regarding driving privileges and licensing.
• Ability to conduct interviews and inspect motor vehicles and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants to determine license or identification type and review/verify documents to confirm eligibility.
• Advise applicants on disqualifications and procedures to resolve issues including providing expert testimony on medical disqualifications.
• Evaluate medical, physical or mental information based on state and federal standards and advise on waivers or restrictions.
• Conduct in-depth vehicle safety inspections of vehicles to be used in required tests and evaluate operator knowledge and ability.
• Administer vision, written, pre-trip and skills tests and evaluate applicant performance for safety and compliance.
• Establish and maintain driver license records with confidentiality and security.
• Assist the Legal Division in gathering evidence for potential legal action on fraudulent applications.
• Respond to inquiries from motor license agents and the public and provide information on laws and procedures.
• Conduct other interviews and hearings related to suspensions, revocations, and restrictions; issue licenses as appropriate.
• Other duties as assigned.
