Job summary

The State of Washington Department of Licensing in Bellingham is seeking a Licensing Services Representative (LSR2) to provide excellent public service in person. You will verify documents, review enhanced licenses, collect fees, and conduct driving skills tests as part of licensing operations.

Successful candidates will undergo extensive training, complete background checks, and work at multiple offices as needed.

Qualifications

• Two years of direct customer service work experience providing public products/services.
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Typing speed of 30 wpm or greater.
• Valid WA driver license with five years of licensed driving experience (no restrictions except corrective lenses).
• Ability to understand and promote a respectful, equitable, and inclusive workplace.

Responsibilities

• Verify authenticity of documents and determine eligibility for licenses/ID cards.
• Final review of enhanced license/identity card applications.
• Collect licensing fees.
• Approve or deny enhanced applications and issue EDL/EID to eligible applicants.
• Perform driving skills tests when required.
