Job summary

The Ohio Department of Public Safety – Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Driver Exam Services District 3 North Canton, in Canton, OH, is seeking a Driver License Station Supervisor. The role supervises examiners and staff, and oversees daily facility operations and driver license testing.

Work hours are Tuesday–Friday 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. & Saturday 8:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. This full-time, safety-sensitive position offers state benefits and opportunities for pay progression.

Qualifications

• 36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in laws & signs applicable for operation of motorized vehicles, to include commercial vehicles & Bureau of Motor Vehicles’ policies & procedures governing testing for & issuance of driver licenses & commercial vehicle licenses.
• AND 1 yr. exp. in supervisory principles & techniques or providing work direction & training to other employees; valid Ohio Class ‘D’ Driver License.
• Option 2: 12 mos. exp. as Driver License Examiner 2 (Lead Worker), 24333; AND valid Ohio Class ‘D’ Driver License.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervises lower ranking examiners &/or supports personnel at a district level;
• Schedules, trains & evaluates employees assigned to the district;
• Oversees the daily operations of the facilities;
• Conducts written, oral & over the road license testing;
• Investigates complaints & documents facts relating to said complaints & issues discipline; Interacts with the public on a daily basis as the representative of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
