You will help protect the public by verifying identities, reviewing documents, and conducting accurate evaluations. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people and following clear procedures.

This position supports highway safety by evaluating driver license applicants and assisting customers at the Driver License Center. The role combines testing, document review, and customer service to maintain secure and accurate licensing processes. As a Driver License Examiner, you will perform the following duties:

• Applicant Evaluation: Determine physical and driving qualifications through standardized testing
• Vehicle Inspection: Check vehicles for proper mechanical conditions before testing begins
• Identity Verification: Examine documents and use databases to confirm authenticity and prevent fraud

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:45PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Overtime and travel as needed
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year of experience as a Driver License Examiner Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Two years of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public.

Special Requirements

• All positions require an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver’s License or equivalent and twenty-one years of age at the time of application.
• All positions require no suspensions or revocations of a driver’s license during the five year period immediately preceding employment.
• All employees in this job hired after February 28, 2022, are required to obtain an active unrestricted Class M driver’s license within the first six months of employment or before the end of the probationary period and maintain it during employment.
