Job summary

The Salvation Army is hiring a Driver in the Administration department, available immediately. The position is on-call with the Operations and Development Manager as reporting line.

Salary ranges from $14.00 to $18.00 per hour and is classified as 72 Non-Exempt. The role involves transporting individuals to Salvation Army functions, performing daily vehicle inspections, maintaining cleanliness, recording damages, and complying with driving laws.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, or equivalent.
• Valid PA Driver’s License with good driving record, CDL preferred.
• At least 3 years of driving experience.
• PA background checks and training required prior to employment.
• Must understand and support the Mission of The Salvation Army.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport individuals to and from Salvation Army functions.
• Conduct a pre-trip/post trip inspection daily.
• Record any damages or wear in bus journal and report to Supervisor.
• Report problems related to the vehicle such as accidents, damage, or passenger difficulties.
• Maintain/Clean the interior and exterior of vehicles.
• Participate in drug testing as requested.
• Do special pick-ups as assigned by supervisor.
• Notify Operations Manager of parts necessary for upkeep of vehicles.
• Abide by all applicable driving laws and regulations.

In addition, completion of a Pennsylvania approved Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training is necessary prior to employment.
