Job summary

Heartland Coca-Cola Bottling Company offers a paid Driver in Training program to obtain a CDL through its CDL Training Program. After completion, placement into a CDL Driver position is provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year of work experience.
• Prior retail customer service experience preferred.
• Prior merchandising or warehouse order builder experience preferred.
• Meet admission guidelines for the Heartland Program.
• Must be at least 21 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Possess a valid driver's license, with a driving record within MVR guidelines.
• Must have completed applicable knowledge testing and hold a Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP) prior to entering the Heartland Driver Training Program.
• Satisfactorily complete all background checks upon conditional offer, including criminal record check, DOT drug and alcohol testing, DOT physical exam, and motor vehicle record check.
• Prior experience using pallet jack preferred. Ability to obtain PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) certification upon hire is required.
• In accordance with FMCSA: must read, speak, and write English sufficiently to converse with the public; understand highway signs and signals; and make entries on reports.

Responsibilities

• Attend driver training program at Heartland Coca-Cola.
• Complete program satisfactorily and obtain CDL.
• Complete company-specific content training (outlet training, handheld usage, customer service, safety).
• Maintain employment with Heartland Coca-Cola for two years.
• Other duties as assigned, such as merchandising or assisting in distribution or warehouse.
