Job summary

Linde plc. in Raleigh, NC is seeking a customer-focused In-Store Sales Representative to handle telephone orders, counter sales and sales support for the Outside Sales team. You will evaluate products, promote add-ons and keep accurate customer records.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, 1+ year in customer service or inside sales, a valid Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement or ability to obtain, and a clean driving record. DOT medical certs may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 1+ year of Customer Service/Inside Sales/Counter Sales preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• No DUI/DWI or other alcohol-related convictions within the last ten years.
• At least two years driving experience or truck driver training.
• No preventable accidents or moving violations in the past two years.
• Current medical examiner’s certificate or ability to pass a DOT physical.
• Valid Class B CDL is required.
• Current Hazmat Endorsement or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• Age 21 or older.

Responsibilities

• Receive and enter telephone orders, answer questions, resolve issues and trace order status.
• Perform counter sales serving customers who enter the store.
• Support Outside Sales team and provide sales assistance.
• Evaluate and recommend product, equipment and/or programs.
• Promote add-on sales of gases and accessories.
• Conduct product demonstrations and maintain customer records.
• Perform outbound calls to retail and B customers.
• Sell products at minimum discount to hit margins.
• Backup relief truck driver duties as needed.

What you will enjoy doing*

• Performs customer service activities including receiving and entering of telephone orders, answering questions, resolving challenges and tracing of order status or product shipments'
• You will perform Counter Sales serving customers who come into the retail store
• Works closely with and provides sales support to Outside Sales team
• You will evaluate and recommend appropriate product, equipment, and/or programs
• Promotes 'add-on' sales of gases and high margin hard goods accessories
• Counter Person / In Store Sales Representative’sconduct product demonstrations
• You will maintain customer records and files, including accurate account setup and pricing
• Performs outbound calls to Retail and small 'B' customers
• You will sell product at minimum discount to achieve target margins
• Backup Relief Truck Driverduties as needed

What makes you great

• 1+ year(s) of Customer Service/Inside Sales/Counter Sales preferred
• You have excellent customer service skills
• No DUI/DWI or other alcohol (driving) related convictions within the last ten (10) years
• You have at least two years driving experience or have completed a course of instruction from a truck driver training school that operates equipment similar to Linde's
• You have no preventable accidents, license suspensions or other moving violations in the past two (2) years
• A current medical examiner’s certificate or the ability to pass a DOT physical
• Valid class BCDL is required
• Current Hazmat Endorsement on CDL or ability to obtain Hazmat Endorsement within 60 days of hire
• You are the age of 21 years or older
