Job summary

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking a motivated Counter/Inside Sales professional in Raleigh, NC, to support both retail customers and the Outside Sales team.

This role includes handling telephone orders, in-store counter sales, and advising on products and programs. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 1+ year in customer service or sales, and valid CDL with Hazmat endorsement or ability to obtain within 60 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 1+ year(s) of Customer Service/Inside Sales/Counter Sales preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• No DUI/DWI or other alcohol-related convictions within the last ten years.
• At least two years driving experience or completion of a truck driver training program.
• No preventable accidents, license suspensions or moving violations in past two years.
• Current medical examiner’s certificate or ability to pass a DOT physical.
• Valid Class B CDL is required.
• Current Hazmat Endorsement on CDL or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• You must be age 21 or older.

Responsibilities

• Performs customer service activities including receiving and entering telephone orders, answering questions, resolving challenges and tracing order status or shipments.
• Performs Counter Sales serving customers who come into the retail store.
• Works closely with and provides sales support to Outside Sales team.
• Evaluates and recommends appropriate product, equipment, and/or programs.
• Promotes add-on sales of gases and high margin hard goods accessories.
• Maintains customer records and files, including accurate account setup and pricing.
• Performs outbound calls to Retail and small customers.
• Sell product at minimum discount to achieve target margins.
• Backup Relief Truck Driver duties as needed.
