Job summary

Linde plc. is seeking a CDL driver to unload and deliver cylinders, manage returns, and complete required paperwork at customer sites. The role involves driving, cylinder handling, and accurate inventory/documentation across daily routes.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a valid Class B CDL with Hazmat or ability to obtain Hazmat within 60 days, DOT medical certificate, and fluent English reading/writing. Safety inspections and compliance are essential.

• No alcohol related convictions in the last 10 years.
• Current medical examiner’s certificate or ability to pass a DOT physical.
• 2+ years driving experience or completion of a truck driver training program.
• Must be able to read and write in English.
• 21 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-standard customer service while delivering and unloading products to customer use points.
• Deliveries take up ~70% of daily tasks and include driving; other time is spent on handling cylinders, paperwork, and inspections.
• Accurately count and record quantities and styles of delivered and picked up product.
• Complete Hazardous Materials shipping papers according to DOT/TC regulations.
• Placard vehicle per hazardous material regulations and Linde standards.
• Conduct and report pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Identify maintenance needs and ensure timely repairs.
• Process cylinder fill/recertification per plant guidelines and perform tests as required.
• Load/unload product from weekly shuttle truck and manage palletized stock.
• Operate forklift and maintain related equipment.

Job description

What you will enjoy doing*

• You will provide a high standard of Customer Service while delivering, which includes unloading of products and movement to customer use point and reloading the returned empty cylinders to the vehicle.
• Driving represents approximately 30 % of the day, the remaining portion of the day includes delivery, cylinder handling, shipping orders/paperwork, customer contact, vehicle AM and PM inspections
• You will accurately count and record quantities and styles of product delivered and picked up
• Complete Hazardous Material shipping orders papers in accordance with DOT/TC Regulations
• Placard vehicle according to required hazardous material regulations and Linde standards
• You will conduct and report pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Identify need for vehicle repairs and/or maintenance and ensure it is accomplished on time
• Processes medical and industrial gas cylinders using established plant guidelines and procedures
• Performs visual, physical and odor tests on cylinders before filling and determines whether retesting and/or repairs are required
• You will check for cylinder quantities, styles and product, and fill any necessary product]
• Loads and unloads product from weekly shuttle truck
• Operates and maintains cylinder scales and associated equipment
• Prepares warehouse transfer orders and accompanying paperwork for shipment and keys into the computer the quantities, styles and products filled in order to justify the stock inventory
• Completes and maintains quality control documentation as per company and Governmental procedures
• You will operate a forklift truck and other plant vehicles

What makes you great

• High School Degree/G.E.D. is required
• You have 2 years driving experience or have completed a course of instruction from a truck driver training school that operates equipment similar to Linde's
• No preventable accidents, license suspensions or other moving violations in the past 2 years
• You have no alcohol related convictions within the last 10 years
• A current medical examiner’s certificate or the ability to pass a DOT physical
• Valid class B CDL is required
• Current Hazmat on CDL or ability to obtain Hazmat within 60 days of hire
• You have 2+ yrs. experience in plant or manufacturing environment preferred
• You can read and write in English
• You are 21 years or older
