Job summary

Aviagen is seeking experienced drivers to operate commercial motor vehicles in a safe and compliant manner in the United States. Responsibilities include pre-trip inspections, loading/unloading assistance, load securement, and maintaining accurate trip documentation.

Candidates should have a valid CDL A with at least 1 year of verifiable driving, and be able to follow DOT regulations, safety policies, and company procedures in a live poultry environment.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL is required with at least 1 year verifiable driving experience.
• Must be able to read and write legibly and follow DOT rules and company policies.
• Ability to work unsupervised, maintain safe driving practices and load/unload as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial motor vehicle in a safe, compliant manner per DOT laws.
• Perform and document pre-trip inspections and report maintenance issues.
• Assist with loading/unloading, ensure load securement and proper documentation.
• Maintain accurate time, trips, weight logs and other records.
• Work nights/weekends/long shifts and adhere to safety procedures in poultry environment.

Job Description Summary:Aviagen is currently looking for highly experienced Drivers. The drivers primarily responsibility will be to ensure exercising safe driving practices ensuring their safety and the safety of the public, responsible for operating commercial motor vehicle transporting in a safe and secure manner, responsible for compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) safety rules and regulations; and all company policies; and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.Job Description:Comply with all Department of Transportation regulationsPerform and document pre-trip inspection (i.e. tires, oil, fuel, lights, breaks, hoses, etc.)Assist with loading and unloading trailer as necessaryEnsure secure load before movementMaintain proper documentation (i.e. equipment, time, trips, weight, etc.)Clean and wash truck as necessaryReport truck and equipment maintenance issues to supervisorComply with all DOT safety rules and regulations, all company policies, and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulationsAll other duties as assignedJob Qualifications:0-3 plus years of Driving Experience requiredMinimum 21 years of ageValid Class 'A' CDL with 1 year verifiable satisfactory driving recordKnowledge of Department of Transportation, State and Federal LawsAbility to read and write legiblyAbility to work unsupervised and self-motivateSound work ethic, honesty and moral characterHigh School Diploma or equivalentPrevious live poultry tractor trailer driving experienceBasic math functions and skillsFollow Department of Transportation, State and Federal laws, and company safety policies and programsWork in outside environment (including inclement weather) on a daily basisSit and drive for up to 10 hours, and climb in and out of truck cab throughout shiftLift up to 75 lbsWork around raw, live animal odorsWork in noisy environment (>85 decibels) and moving equipmentWork nights, weekends, holidays and long shiftsBenefits: Aviagen USA provides a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the healthcare and financial well-being of our employees.
