Job summary

Lowe’s Companies, Inc. is hiring a delivery driver to safely operate a company delivery vehicle, complete specialized deliveries in apartment communities and multifamily properties, and ensure accurate order handling.

You will load, transport, and unload merchandise, verify orders with handheld tech, build customer relationships, and coordinate with sales and operations to meet customer needs while maintaining DOT and safety compliance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of experience operating box trucks or similar commercial vehicles (GVW 14,500–26,000 lb).
  • Must meet DOT requirements and maintain medical certification.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lb; team-lift available for heavier items.
  • Strong safety, customer service and operational excellence.
  • Valid Driver License (in-state).

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a company delivery vehicle following DOT, safety and compliance requirements.
  • Complete specialized deliveries in apartment communities and multifamily properties.
  • Load, transport, unload and position merchandise per customer/site needs.
  • Verify order accuracy, collect confirmations, and document deliveries with handheld tech.
  • Build strong customer relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service.
  • Collaborate with sales and operations to address customer needs and resolve delivery concerns.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety issues.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records and comply with policies and transportation regulations.
  • Assist with warehouse operations and material handling as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a company delivery vehicle while maintaining all DOT, safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Complete specialized deliveries in apartment communities and multifamily properties, navigating complex delivery environments with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Load, transport, unload, and position merchandise according to customer requirements and site conditions.
  • Verify order accuracy, collect delivery confirmations, and document completed deliveries using handheld technology.
  • Build strong customer relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service during every delivery.
  • Partner with sales and operations teams to support customer needs, resolve delivery concerns, and enhance the customer experience.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records and ensure compliance with company policies and transportation regulations.
  • Assist with warehouse operations and material handling activities as business needs require.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED General Studies or technical school graduate or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
  • 1+ years of experience operating box trucks or similar commercial vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW between 14,500 and 26,000 pounds.
  • Ability to meet all applicable DOT requirements and maintain required medical certification.
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull merchandise weighing up to 40 pounds, with team - lift- support available for heavier items.
  • Strong commitment to safety, customer service and operational excellence.
  • DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience navigating multifamily housing, apartment communities, construction sites, or other complex delivery environments preferred.
  • Experience operating forklifts, order pickers, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
  • Retail, logistics, or warehouse experience
  • Experience using handheld mobile technology and delivery management systems.
