Description:

The objective of this position is to exceed the customer’s expectation of service by assisting the Driver with assuring the safe transportation and delivery of food to customer locations, following company policies and procedures. Assuring shipment of temperature controlled and undamaged product, proper count of goods at customer locations, assuring inventory levels are FIFO in the customer locations.

Shift: 6PM-9PM start
Must be able to work Sunday and Friday nights

Required skills & Abilities:

1. Ability to follow all safety protocols including spotting the Driver in close quarter maneuvers

Physical requirements:

1. The ability to lift 25/50/80 pounds regularly
2. The ability to respond quickly to sounds
3. The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces

5. The ability to see well at night

Minimum Driver Helper Requirements:

1. 18 Years of age
2. Must be able to work in incremental weather
3. Must have reliable transportation
4. Must be comfortable working overnight and weekends
5. Must be a team player
6. Lifting, bending, and moving for long hours
7. Assisting drivers to find delivery locations
8. Compiling accurate delivery records and reports
9. Reporting all delivery-related problems to senior staff
10. Effectively communicating with clients and customers to resolve complaints
11. Liaising with the main office or the warehouse logistics team to notify the driver of any changes to daily routes
12. Assisting with the unloading of the delivery vehicle at the end of each shift
13. Ensuring that all safety policies and procedures are adhered to
14. Delivery week: Sunday evening through Saturday morning

Accountabilities:

1. Assures all tasks are performed according to company policies and procedures
2. Assures workplace safety – getting out of truck and assisting with backing up from outside the truck, staying awake with Driver during trips, watching road and being another set of eyes on the road.
3. Load and unload products from trucks or trailers
4. Put product away based at customer locations based on customer specifications
5. Assists in maintaining the vehicle and equipment clean and safe
6. Assists with vehicle inspections before and after each trip
7. Operate hand trucks and pallet jacks
8. Make sure inventory being delivered matches manifest
9. Report any incident to supervisor immediately
10. Attention to detail in all aspects of the safe transportation of food products, food warehousing practices, and documentation
11. Follow all company and state-enforced safety requirements for loading and unloading products
