Job summary

Carter Lumber is seeking a Driver Helper at our Millwork location. The role focuses on loading trucks and unloading materials at job sites, while delivering exceptional customer service to contractors and DIY customers.

Candidates should be prepared to unload, stack, and stage products neatly, with emphasis on quality control and product knowledge. The position requires strong teamwork, reliability, and the ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

• Experience in a customer service environment is required.

• Familiarity with building materials is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Meets and greets contractors and do-it-yourselfers while providing exceptional customer service by assisting with unloading products and staging in desired areas.
• Is friendly to other trades on jobsites and willing to make adjustments to get the job done.
• Helps load and stage delivery trucks for upcoming deliveries.
• Delivers material with Delivery Driver to various types of jobsites.
• Follows all policies and procedures in the yard including sales, inventory and safety.
• Properly uses and maintains all equipment.

Job description

A Carter Lumber Millwork Driver Helper is responsible for loading trucks and unloading material at various different types of jobsites. They will be responsible for providing professional customer service to contractors and do-it-yourselfers by unloading and stacking their material in a neat and organized fashion with an emphasis on quality control. Inventory control, product knowledge and organization skills are all components of this position. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company are necessary to this position.

Requirements to be Considered for this Position:

• Heavy lifting required
• Previous experience in a customer service environment

• Familiarity with building materials is helpful

Responsibilities of the Position:

Customer Service:
