Job summary

MarBorg Industries seeks a dependable Driver- Class C to collect trash, recycling, and green waste along designated routes. You will safely operate a Class C vehicle, interact with customers, and ensure loads are secure for disposal.

The role includes pre- and post-trip inspections and documenting activities in Fleet software. Applicants should have at least two years of driving experience, strong safety practices, and the ability to work a Thursday through Monday schedule in various weather

Driver- Class C

JOB TITLE:Driver- Class C

POSITION SUMMARY: The Driver-Class C will perform manual labor in the collection of trash, green waste, and recyclable material on designated residential routes, public spaces, including special hauls, bulky items pickups, and illegal dumps. The ideal candidate is reliable, physically capable, and committed to providing efficient and professional services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

  • Safely operate a Class C truck for the collection and removal of waste.
  • Collect and transport trash, recycling, green waste, and special hauls.
  • Collection of annual, e-waste, bulky items, illegal dumps, and leaving the location clean and free of debris.
  • Interact with customers, dispatchers, and others daily to ensure all orders are serviced in a timely, accurate, and professional manner. Ensure all loads are always secure for safe transport to the designated disposal facility.
  • Offload items to the C&D Yard using a forklift and place items in their designated area in an organized manner, including submittal of proper paperwork/recordkeeping completion.
  • Perform pre- and post-operation inspections and complete the VCR (Vehicle Condition Report) book for the assigned vehicle in accordance with Company policy.
  • Collection of waste on assigned routes and leaves the location clean and free of debris and accidental waste spills.
  • Assembles garbage bins and recycling containers.
  • Communicate accidents, injuries, or property damage to the supervisor immediately.
  • Develop and maintain a professional demeanor with the public.
  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle and equipment.
  • Identify and report truck or equipment issues promptly utilizing the Fleet Software Program.
  • Report ends of day hours utilizing the Fleet Software Program.
  • Maintain Driver log sheets.
  • Perform all duties with a very high level of productivity to complete all work orders assigned.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Two years of driving experience with the ability to operate equipment with skills, efficiency, and safety.
  • Ability to give full attention to assigned route.Drivers will navigate driveways, alleyways, parking lots, and high-traffic roadways. Highly skilled backing maneuvers are essential to successfully perform this job.
  • Must have the ability to understand and complete route sheets and dispatch tickets.
  • Must have the ability to read, interpret maps easily & route work orders in the most efficient sequence.
  • Good customer skills to meet and exceed customer expectations in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Excellent time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Good follow-through ability; adheres to work schedule and follows through on challenges as they arise.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to perform heavy and physically demanding work for lengthy and continuous periods of time.
  • Ability to withstand all types of weather conditions.
  • Ability to work a Thursday through Monday schedule.

EDUCATION

Less than high school education; or two years of driving experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and dirty. Required to put on protective outfits such as gloves, high-visibility gear, hard hat, etc.
