Responsibilities
- Operate community vehicles safely on outings, excursions, special activities, and personal resident appointments.
- Assist with safe loading of residents and their belongings onto and off community vehicles.
- Follow all state and federal laws when operating community vehicles.
- Comply with standards and processes for proper vehicle inspection and driving; demonstrate safe driving and punctuality.
- Act as a member of the activity staff during outings, excursions, and within the community.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests following established safety standards.
- Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with coworkers and other departments.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a Class B (or Class C with passenger endorsement) license to drive a bus.
- Prefer at least two years of experience driving a vehicle/van/bus to transport people.
- Excellent customer‑service skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with employees, supervisors, physicians, healthcare professionals, residents, and families.
- Must pass a criminal background check and health screening tests, including a physical and TB test.
- May be required to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and wear face coverings or other PPE per regulatory guidelines to protect team members and residents.
