Job summary

Oakmont Senior Living in Belmont, CA is seeking a Driver for a full-time schedule (Tuesday–Saturday, 9:30am–6pm). The role focuses on safe driving of community vehicles and resident supervision during outings, with benefits and opportunities across California communities.

Applicants should be 21+, hold a Class B or C Passenger Endorsement, and demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills. A background check and health screening are required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Class B or Class C license with Passenger Endorsement.
• Prefer two years of experience driving a vehicle/van/bus transporting people.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Possess written and verbal skills to interact with employees, residents, and families.
• Must pass Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests (TB).
• Vaccination/testing requirements may apply per regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Operate community vehicles safely on outings, excursions, and appointments.
• Assist with the safe loading of residents and belongings onto/off the vehicle.
• Follow all state and federal laws when operating community vehicles.
• Perform vehicle inspections and maintain safety standards; demonstrate safe transportation of residents.
• Act as a member of the activity staff during outings and in the community.
• Maintain a safe, secure environment for staff, residents, and guests; follow safety standards.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with coworkers and departments.

The Driver is responsible for ensuring the safe driving of the community’s vehicles and supervision of the residents during community outings or trips. Additionally, they may assist in setting up and breaking down activities and events in the Community, in accordance with the company’s mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Operate community vehicles safely on outings, excursions, special activities, and personal resident appointments.
• Assist with the safe loading of residents and their belongings onto and off-of-community vehicles.
• Follow all state and federal laws when operating community vehicles.
• Comply with standards and processes for proper vehicle inspection and driving. Demonstrate safe driving in getting residents transported. Observes speed limits yet are still punctual and safe in transporting people.
• Act as a member of the activity staff when on outings/excursions and within the community.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have either a Class B or Class C license with Passenger Endorsement to drive the bus
• Prefer two (2) years of experience driving a vehicle/van/bus transporting people.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Possess written and verbal skills to interact and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, physicians, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families.
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests
